a bit about our history with dogs........
from childhood days we have always had pets... dogs, several cats, and a turtle (thats still going strong at 31 yrs old!) The childhood dogs sadly left us and a few dog free years followed, until.. we paid a random visit to a local rescue centre and saw a handsome chap called Jasper (a beautiful Red & Rust Dobermann) crying in a kennel.. he just had to come home with us! We had 6 wonderful years with Jasper until he tragically died from a twisted stomach after suffering from bloat. Although devastated from our loss we decided that we couldn't bare to be without a dog, and we couldn't ever replace Jasper so looked for another breed as our family dog... after much consideration we opted for a Boxer and have never looked back! Tilly is excellent with our young children and cats. She is very playful and energetic as are most Boxers but also loyal and great company. Due to the pedigree lines Tilly comes from we would like to have shown her, however decided early on that due to the demands from our young family we wouldn't be able to give it the time and attention it would require so Tilly has just been a family pet.

We have recently made a change to the way we feed our animals and have opted to go for the BARF diet and have not looked back! BARF stands for Bones And Raw Food or Biologically Appropriate Raw Food, depending on which books you read. The basic principle is to feed a diet that the animals have evolved to eat, or to put it another way AS NATURE INTENDED.
We start our puppies on a combination of the BARF diet and a decent complete dog food, as we understand that this kind of feeding is not for everyone. If you would like further advice then please do not hesitate to ask!
